Here's what this actually looks like...

Uncategorized Jan 28, 2026

Yesterday I mentioned that, as an experiment, I'm opening up a small number of spots for personal college advising with families who came from “the outside world” (who weren't referred by other clients).

A bunch of you asked for more details, wondering, “Is this for my kid?” So let me tell you exactly what this looks like.

This is not for parents who want a checklist.

It’s not for families looking for a magic essay template or a guaranteed Ivy outcome (ahem, Lori Loughlin!).

And it’s definitely not for anyone hoping to outsource responsibility and “let someone else handle it.”

This is for parents who sense something important is at stake and don’t want to get it wrong.

Parents who feel deep down that the admissions landscape has shifted, but can’t quite put their finger on how.

Or what to do about it.

Parents who know their child is capable of more than what’s showing up on paper right now.

Parents who, if they're being honest, have no idea how their child will answer the "invisible question" on the Common Application:

Why should we pick you out of a crowd when 50,000 competitor-applicants look exactly the same?

And for parents who don’t want their kid to “do everything right” but still end up disappointed.

Over the years, I’ve noticed something.

The families who get the best outcomes aren’t the ones chasing rankings.  They’re the ones willing to slow down long enough to make the right strategic decisions early.

That’s the work I do best.

I've built my reputation on solving problems that guidance counselors, parents and other advisors can't see...

Like when Karen came to us, facing $4,000/month Parent PLUS loan payments on $350,000 of debt for her kids' college tuition.

She and her CPA husband couldn't see a way out.

Pearl (wife) saw it immediately.

Pearl (wife, still) advised them to make one change to how they filed their taxes.

That was the linchpin.  Their payments dropped to $750/month.

And more than $200,000 of debt forgiven.

Not a typo. Pearl saved them $3,000+ per month and 200K.

Ava sat down with me last summer, paralyzed over her college essay after weeks of frustration.

She couldn't see the angle. Her mom couldn't either. Her English teachers were useless.

I found it in under 10 minutes.

She left that session with clarity, confidence, and ultimately an Early Decision acceptance to her dream school.

You've probably noticed...

The biggest breakthroughs don't come from fixing 30 small things...

They come from identifying the single insight that changes everything.

And if you're still reading this, I'm guessing you have something like that blocking your kid's path.

So let me tell you how my P4 Private Advising program works:

  1. We meet at my office in Glen Head or Boca Raton (or virtually if you're not local).
  2. Your kid and I work together over several months to solve the real constraint — whether that's figuring out what they actually want to major in, how they can possibly stand out from tens of thousands of other near-identical applicants, or cracking their essay topic.

Or all of the above, in most cases.

  1. You get a clear roadmap to elite college acceptance and life-changing scholarships.  And I take you by the hand and lead the way.

Let me be clear though, we are different and not right for everybody.

This is for families with motivated kids who are coachable.

Not kids who need babysitting.

And not Helicopter Parents who think they're "helping" by over-involving themselves in every meeting, essay draft, you name it.

Note to these parents:  you're doing the opposite of "helping."

We'll need to identify if this is the right fit during our initial call. Because if we work together...

We get results.

There are 12 spots total. That's it.

This is an experiment. I don't know if I'll get three responses or 300.

But here's what I promise:  if you reach out, I'll take your interest in our program seriously.

If we're a fit, I'll invite you into the program.

If we're not, I'll tell you honestly and point you somewhere better. Either way, you'll get value from the conversation.

P.S. Yes, there's an investment required. But here's the thing: one small merit scholarship pays for this many times over. And we help families win far more than one measly scholarship consistently.

This isn't a cost. It's an ROI decision.
