For stressed out and confused parents of college-bound teens...

The Inconvenient Truth About What It REALLY Takes To Get Into A Competitive College - Today

A special message from Andy Lockwood, "College Planning Guru," Best-Selling author

 Dear Fellow Parent:

I should warn you, this isn't the most politically correct letter.

And it DEFINITELY isn't the "same-old, same-old" that you've heard from your guidance counselor, other teachers or parents.

This letter is about the truth  - what it REALLY takes to get into a top college...

When your kid's grades and scores look the SAME on paper as thousands of other competitor-applicants

Maybe more, depending on where your child applies.  Northeastern University reportedly received 90,000 applications this year, for example!

The process of getting into college today barely resembles what we went through in the 80's.  Frankly, I have at best a hazy memory of writing my college essay (although I'm pretty sure it was handwritten)!

The college admissions world is upside down compared to 30 years ago. All of the "joke" colleges that admitted anyone with a pulse and a checkbook are now, all of a sudden, "Reach" schools that are impossible to get into!

Many parents fail to understand this, mostly because they wish things weren't this way.

Hey, I agree - and I wish that colleges weren't businesses too!

And I don't like that getting into college is as much about how you market yourself as it is about your academic credentials.

But what you, and I, wish doesn't really matter.  If YOU refuse to acknowledge how things really work, here on Planet Earth...

...or, worse, you know how things work but put off DOING something about it until later, "when you're ready," whatever that means...'re in for a rude awaking when college acceptances come out in December, January and February.

You're headed for a harsh dose of reality that I can sum up in two words:

"Admissions Armageddon."

At every high school, year in and year out, the same sad tale plays out:

Kids who "deserved" to get into top college, don't...

And those with lesser academic credentials, somehow DO!

Why does this happen?

It's unfair!

I know.  And your point is?

It's not supposed to be fair.  But that answer is just scratching the surface.

The complete explanation would take hours, but here's a quick summary:

  • Just because your son or daughter's academic credentials prove that they can "do the work" at a given college does NOT mean that they'll get in
  • Grades and scores are important, but they're not the whole story by any stretch of the imagination
  • Admissions officers consider 20-25 factors, including the aforementioned grades and scores
  • At least 2/3 of the slots at any given competitive college are reserved for non-academic "Selects"  or factors
  • Non-academic Selects include race, ethnicity, whether you're an international student, recruited athlete, legacy, more
  • If your kid doesn't fall into one of the Special Categories, he or she must work that much harder on his extracurricular activities, ACT or SAT scores and college essays to have a fighting chance!

How To Multiply Your Kid's Odds Of Admission To Her "Dream College"

To level the playing field, you've got to learn the rules of The Game.

Problem is, your guidance counselor isn't going to tell you them, either because she herself doesn't how to play...

...or because these Rules are too politically-incorrect to be disclosed "on the record!"

There is another way

I have good news - you don't have to rely on your guidance counselor or other parents with limited knowledge (or questionable motives) to find out EXACTLY what your child needs to do to get into a top college.

An unfair advantage

Let me ask you a question:

What if you could "eavesdrop" on private, closed-door conversations of elite admissions officers as they discussed exactly what they wanted to see  - and what they DON'T want to see - on a college application?

How much time would that save you if you could pinpoint EXACTLY what your child needs to do to get into their "Dream College?"

Not to mention avoiding the stress and wasted emotional energy that's part and parcel of the high stakes, pressure-packed College Roller Coaster?

College Admissions "Master Class"

You don't have to waste time or ratchet up the Anxiety Meter because you don't know where to start.

I've put together a short, easy to understand course on the college admissions process that will tell you precisely what admissions officers want to see.

It's all content, no fluff.

That means you won't waste any time or emotional energy guessing, because you'll be able to pinpoint the precise strategies and tactics your son or daughter needs to do to  boost their odds of admission to any college!

The College Admissions Master Class consists of a series of private interviews I conducted with extremely high level sources, namely:

  • Don Betterton, Princeton University.  Mr. Betterton served on the Admissions Committee of Princeton for more than 30 years. He also was Director Of Financial Aid.
  • Sarah Idzik.  Ms. Idzik served as an admissions officer at The University Of Chicago for five years, reading approximately 1,000 applications per year, or a staggering, grand total of 5,000 essays (each application consisted of 4-5 essays).
  • Ms. X - Celebrity Tutor.  Ms. X has helped clients achieve perfect and near-perfect ACT and SAT scores, as well as remarkable improvements on their standardized tests, including one client who raised his ACT from a 26 to a 31 and another who started with a 25 and ended up with a 32.  The ACT recently "flagged" one of her students because his score increased too much! She works exclusively with our clients and never gives public interviews.

Here's what you get when you say YES to the College Admissions Master Class

When you enroll, you will get immediate access to the following valuable information:

  1. 68 minute, candid, no-holds-barred interview with Don Betteron, 30 Year Princeton veteran (and one of the educators behind the College Board) who was kind enough to answer my aggressive questions such as:  What are "good" extracurricular activities?  What are "bad" ones? Do colleges have "quotas"  for how many kids they take from each high school?  And, How much does the essay count, anyway?
  2. College Essay Insider Secrets- access to a client-only webinar I conducted with Sarah Idzik, former U Chicago admissions officer, where we went through EVERY essay prompt (question) on the new Common Application.  Sarah decided whether to admit or deny 1,000 applicants per year during her five year tenure, which means that her perspective on the essay is muy differento than your typical English teacher's or guidance counselor's!
  3. Five Deadly Score-Killing ACT/SAT Mistakes To Avoid.  Andy grills "Ms. X" - celebrity tutor  - on how to maximize your scores on these

Our private consulting clients pay between $12,000 to more than $20,000 for this advice and one-on-one coaching, and they use it to help get into colleges such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, MIT and other elite colleges.

But you won't have to fork over anywhere near that amount, if you take me up on my (guaranteed) offer, today.

Before I get to the cost for the Master Class, I want to tell you about two extremely valuable bonuses you'll qualify for if you enroll today.

"Early Action" Bonuses If You Enroll Today

I'm actually happy to reward you, on my dime, for taking action, because this is a great habit to get into when it comes to planning for college.

You can't put off deadlines, essay writing, etc. in the college process, you have real, non-negotiable timelines to get everything done.

The sooner you develop your "Action Muscles" the better!

Bonus 1:  Checklist For College Applications - keep all of your passwords, deadlines and other important information in one place instead of letting the process overwhelm you into losing out on scholarships, financial aid and key admissions opportunities!

Bonus 2. A copy of my #1 best selling book on college admissions, How to Get Into Your Dream College Without Lying Bribing or Photoshopping.  By the way, this is an actual book, not a pdf.  I'll sign it and ship it to you myself!

The Investment

You won't have to pay anywhere near our typical, outrageous consulting fees.

Although admittedly steep, clients gladly fork over this significant sum because they know that, each year, we help kids get into colleges such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Duke other super-competitive schools.

Our advice serves as a blueprint to help them get an edge over their fellow competitor-applicants - at their high schools - and all over the world.

If you enroll today, you won't pay even half of what they invest to get this game changing information.

Or half of a half! :)

When you say "Yes" to our College Admissions Master Class today, your investment is only $497.

That's it!  A one time, token fee.  It's probably less than your monthly Starbucks budget, for the love of all things holy! :)

And you have lifetime access too, which means you can use the material for each of your kiddos (cannot be shared outside your nuclear family).

Wondering why we're offering this at such a ridiculously low price?

The first reason is selfish, experience tells us that roughly 45% of our new customers to invest in another of our services or products at some point in the future.  This offer gives you a way to "dip your toe" in the water to see if you like what we have to offer.

The more important reason is that I know that many people simply don't have the means to pay our admittedly super-high college advisory fees. I wanted to get virtually the same instruction into your hands at a much more budget-friendly amount.

Education that you simply cannot get from your guidance counselor (public or private high school) or anywhere else.

The third reason is more psychological - you need to get used to taking action and IMPLEMENTING advice, before you run out of time. (Talk to any parents who already sent kids to college to verify this! :)

So this low investment should nudge you off the fence and in the right direction.

The Catch

There is one catch (were you waiting for one? :)

We can't offer it forever to an unlimited number of families.  Even though the instruction is already waiting for you when you login, whenever you want, on-demand, the bonuses we're offering do require us to put in a fair amount of time.

Once we enroll 25 families this year, we're planning to shut down this offer.

So I hope you move forward and get this unprecedented, (almost) unfair advantage in college admissions over your competitors, today!

I hope to see you in class!
